Tai'an is in the region from longitude 116°02' to 117°59' east and latitude 35°38' to 36°28' north, with 176.6 kilometers in length from east to west and 93.5 kilometers in width from south to north, covering an area of 7,762 square kilometers. Especially Komatiite is now widely accepted as the only Archean ultrabasic extrusive rock containing spinifex texture in China. It has the characteristics of large reserves, high grade and wide distribution. More than 50 kinds of proved mineral resources such as coal, iron, copper, gold, alumina, quartzite, ophiolite, gypsum, rock salt, sylvine, natural sulphur, potassium feldspar, cement limestone, asbestos, granite, marble, pottery clay, fireclay, etc. with 50 billion tons of reserves.
